Ce reportage a été réalisé lors de la conférence d’Herzliya, le 18 décembre 2006. Lors de cet événement, Philippe Karsenty, président de Media-Ratings, a présenté l’affaire Enderlin – France 2 aux officiels israéliens.
Dans ce reportage, vous pourrez notamment voir Daniel Seaman, directeur du Bureau de Presse Gouvernemental israélien, s’exprimer ainsi :
« Cette histoire de Mohamed Al Doura ne repose sur aucun des critères requis en journalisme professionnel.
Les images ne corroborent pas ce que le journaliste français [Charles Enderlin] dit. C’est-à-dire qu’on ne voit pas de soldat israélien tirer dans la direction de l’enfant.

Les seules balles que l’on voit dans le film partent dans la direction opposée à celle où se trouvent les soldats.
Plus grave encore, le journaliste français ne se trouvait pas physiquement sur les lieux où se seraient déroulés les actes qu’il impute à l’Etat d’Israël.

Is France no longer Catholic?

- France should no longer be considered a Catholic country, according to a survey published by Le Monde des Religions.
The survey showed a steep decline in the number of French people identifying themselves as Catholics: from 80% just 15 years ago to just over one-half-- 51% today.

Over the same period the number of professed atheists rose from 23 to 31%.
Among the respondents who did identify themselves as Catholics, only 10% attend church services regularly, the poll showed.

More remarkable, only half of the self-identified Catholics say that they believe in God.

Some respondents indicated that for them, Catholicism involves a social or cultural identity rather than a religious commitment.
Dubeity and the silence of God are traditional Catholic features in a spiritual progress.

But French Catholics do not appear to be suffering the long dark night of the soul.

They appear to have reinvented themselves as Episcopalians, a religion of being nice and multicultural tea parties.
“Catholicism will remain the most important religion,” said Frederic Lenoir, the editor of the survey in Le Monde des Religions, citing the fact that the Catholic Church still claims many more adherents than any other faith. However, he said, “In its institutions and in its mentality, France is no longer a Catholic country.”

It is simply not possible to have a Catholic mentality without God.

A Catholic mentality begins with a disposition to God, either in or out of one's life.

If God is not in the mix, then, whatever you are, you are not Catholic.

The French are brave enough to walk away from the obligations of belief, but not honest enough to do without comforts and support of the Church.

Genesis 1:1, 2:4-6

French Baloney Sliced Thick

When are cultural stereotypes not stereotypes?

Why, when they are national cultural profiles done up in a binder by some fancy research firm that charges for the privilege of reading what is stock in trade for satirists like Cabu.

This is no longer stereotyping.

This is research, findings of the highest order.
NATIONAL CULTURAL PROFILES – FRANCE

National Cultural Profiles are your guide to the thinking patterns of all the world's major cultures. Below is an extract from the France profile...
Cultural black holes:

The French believe that they are intellectually superior to any other nationality.

The length and magnificence of their historical achievements leave the French convinced that they have a mission to teach and to civilise others.
Their political, military and economic strengths may no longer predominate as they once did, but they perceive no diminishment or fading of their moral and didactic authority.
Listening habits: French people pay full attention only if the speaker is charismatic, imaginative, clearly logical and represents authority.
How to empathise with them: Recognize French historical achievement, the riches of their culture and their sense of mission.

They consider themselves human, witty and intellectually superior.
If you open up to them, they will follow suit, cautiously.

Be witty if you can, they respond well to liveliness.

To gain acceptance you should behave formally, show respect for the hierarchy and stick to logic at all times. However, you should also show a ‘human’ side and take the opportunity to have a good long talk, though never criticise the French nation or its heroes.

We keep encountering the claim that the French person as a class of person is natively logical, but have thus far been denied contemporary evidence behind the claim (and here, and here, in the comments).
Perhaps this accounts for the French lack of imagination -

- except in the areas of lies, excuses, and self-congratulation -

- as logic is, by its nature, derivative thinking.
Or perhaps the claim could be put thusly, were the French to give anything some thought there is a chance they would think on it logically. Of course, there is nothing particularly French about such a claim, but at least it spares the unknowing the misimpression of France as a nation teeming with the spawn of Raymond Smullyan.*

Hamas: Reuters is Faking the News

The Reuters wire service is being accused of twisting and distorting the news (again),

but this time the accusers are Hamas—who are going for the reverse double backflip terrorist PR move:

Hamas denies Meshal spoke of recognizing Israel. (Hat tip: It Shines For All.)

Hamas denied Wednesday that its Damascus-based political leader Khaled Meshal told Reuters in an interview that his group would consider recognizing Israel once a Palestinian state is established.
One hour after the Reuters interview was published, the Hamas government spokesman Ghazi Hamad told Haaretz that Meshal said,

“Israel exists - and that’s a fact.”
However, Hamad maintained that Meshal did not say anything about recognizing Israel. “There was no change in our stance that Hamas does not recognize Israel,” he said.
Salah Bardawil, head of Hamas’s parliamentary faction, told Haaretz that after checking with Meshal, it seems to be that his words were twisted and distorted.
“He didn’t speak about any recognition of Israel, only a cease-fire with Israel,” Bardawil said.

I mean, it's probably amongst the most shocking images you'll currently find on their listings at the moment and no details of names, crimes, or the immediate action from the western "human rights" organisations.

You see , these are just the way disagreements are settled between the different "freedom" movements, and when they do it to each other, you've got respect their customs...

Jimmy Carter (1979)

Back in 1979, Jimmy Carter actually did say that the PLO terrorists were like America's Civil Rights Movement. Time magazine called it a "Slippery Comparison".
Perhaps as a white southerner Jimmy felt guilt at the history of his culture's oppression of black people. Maybe these feelings led him to the perverse version of reality which he held then and is now trying to sell us again.
Perhaps I'm being too naive.
Maybe it was, and is, all about "Arab money".
